Working Together for Environmentally Friendly Recycling |
||
Japan is an economic superpower, and its economic growth and vigorous consumption have resulted in large amounts of waste materials. In recent years there has been a high awareness of recycling, and the amount of ordinary waste materials has reached a plateau, without showing a rising trend. Industrial wastes, however, are discharged at the rate of 390 million tons, some eight times the amount of ordinary waste, making recycling even more urgent. Improving the quality of recycled materials is one way to promote recycling amidst such circumstances. The keys to better quality in recycled plastics are sorting and storage control. These could even be termed essential to recycled materials. However, sorting waste plastic discharged in large quantities is highly labor-intensive and entails great cost, and there always danger of backflow. Overcoming this requires the cooperation of each and every manufacturer and consumer, or effective recycling will never occur. We consider it our mission to recycle, and are devoting ourselves on a daily basis to achieving our goal of zero industrial waste. |
